| Keith in awe of our awesome rental...the Yarus! |
After checking into our hotel, which we had an amazing view of the Centennial Olympic Park, we also had a fun assortment of treats, compliments of the Omni. They are too good to us and they even blew up an 8x10 picture of us from an event earlier in 2010. So sweet.
In Keith fashion, we walked around the corner for dinner and to watch the opening NFL football game. I, of course, had to tell the bartender that it was his birthday so he nicely offered Keith a shot of either tequila or Yeager. We all know which one he opted for...
Friday morning, we drove about an hour north of Atlanta to a zip line/canopy tour. I have done this in Costa Rica before (amazing!!) and I wanted Keith to experience the excitement stateside as well. We played a few games of cornhole (I won :)) and then headed out for the "jungle of Georgia."
We went on 12 different zip lines and even had a repelling challenge which was a bit scary. Our leaders were very entertaining and we had such a fun experience. The last zip line we went down, Keith and I raced each other over a small lake/pond and both got wet due to a fountain strategically placed so everyone would get some of water on them.
After a stop at The Varsity for a late lunch (Keith says he'll only go back for the orange slush drink as the rest of the food was so-so), we headed back to the hotel for a quick change and then off to the Atlanta Underground for shopping. We really just needed to kill some time before the Braves vs. Cardinals baseball game at Turner Field. Opting for the MARTA bus (quite an experience), we made it safely to the stadium with lots of time to walk around, drink some 16 ounce beers and eat some yummy BBQ. Our seats were along the 1st baseline on the lower level but unfortunately next to some really obnoxious fans. The home team won the game and best of all, we saw a great fireworks show at the stadium after the game. I am a huge fan of fireworks, so I made Keith sit through the entire show. Happy 30th birthday to you! I hope it is one you will always remember.
