Bama vs. Penn State

The best thing I've seen regarding college football! This guy's truck was a show-stopper.

Saturday, September 10: The main event and #1 reason for coming to Atlanta...the Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Penn State Nittany Lions. This game was hyped to be the best pre-season game of the year and since Bama was pre-season #1. I ordered us Bama t-shirts so we wouldn't look like complete outsiders all day. From Atlanta to Tuscaloosa, it was a 3 hour road trip plus a 1 hour time change. We spent a lot of time on the road Saturday but it was well worth it to see a SEC game live. Keith's sister, Julie, has taken Keith to SEC games in the past, but this was my first experience. These people know how to tailgate and have a great time. It was hot, humid, rainy at times, but the fans were out in full force and even the frat guys had to wear full suits in the 100% humidity.

We walked all around campus and went to some local bars along the campus strip and of course watched all the other NCAA football games happening that day. When game time was near, we headed to our seats, WAY WAY up in the upper deck. At least we had a bird's eye view as the plays were developing! Bama ended up killing Penn State and a lot of fans left early. Sad to think many traveleled all the way from Pennsylvania to leave early. But hey, we came all the way from Texas! We had a long road trip back to Atlanta and got in at 2 or 3 am. It was such a long day but well worth it. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Leavin' on a jet plane...Sadly, we had to leave Atlanta on Sunday and head back to Dallas. We had a lazy Sunday and walked around the Olympic Park, played in the water fountains and then headed home. Such a fun weekend and I'm happy Keith loved all of the surprises. Now, I'm just wondering what he's going to do for my 30th next year. He he he.
