A few weeks ago, we had a couple rough nights with Anna where I was up with her for most of the night. It was 100% my fault since I just wouldn't let her cry and although I know some people don't believe it is ok for their babies to cry, but I had to learn the hard way. I'm reading a book called Baby Wise that many mother's swear by and it has been a blessing to us taking care of Anna and trying to get her on a schedule. For a few nights in a row each time she cried, I picked her up and as soon as she fell back asleep, I tried to put her in her pack and play but she immediately woke up and began crying again. So began the cycle of me trying relentlessly to put her to sleep for 5, 6 or 7 hours and she nor I got any rest. I know she was tired and I couldn't figure out how to get her to sleep. The next day, I had Keith go out during his lunch break to purchase the Baby Wise book for me and I've been following the rules in the book ever since and I can honestly say that we haven't had another night where we've been up with her. It has been a blessing to know that it is ok to let your little ones cry, but only for a maximum of 15 minutes per the book (I usually can only stand let her cry for 10-12 before I try to figure out if she needs a diaper change, is hungry or just plain tired). All in all, we're well into working on our "routine" and Anna sleeps for about 5-7 hours each night and rarely do we have to deal with an unhappy baby at bedtime. We are sooooo thankful! I only wish I would have started this routine a few weeks earlier, maybe around her 2 week old mark...
The day after I was up with Anna from 1 - 6 am, there was a knock on my front door and a Fed Ex man had delivered a box from 1-800 flowers. I had to read the card a few times to have it sink in...it said "Thank you for staying up with me mom. I love you, Anna." I hope Anna continues to give me flowers for years and years to come. :)
Thank you Anna for the gorgeous roses. I love you, too!!

That is really sweet... did Anna do this with Daddy's help and credit card? So sweet... you are a good mom and yes I have to agree the baby wise book is amazing... worked for Pierce... he was sleeping through the night at 6 weeks but it is hard to hear your little one cry like that especially when you know all you have to do is hold her to make it stop. Love ya..
