Today I am officially entering the blogging world...I am not really sure what I am getting myself into but it should be a fun adventure. I love reading other people's blogs and while my life isn't all that exciting, I do have a terrible memory so I think this will help in that regard! I envision this blog being about fun things we do in our lives plus all the crazy renovation projects and craft projects we've done in our house. It truly has been a labor of LOVE.
But on to the first official "fun" thing I want to share...Keith and I just got back from a fabulous trip to see my Dad in Oregon. We spent 6 days traveling all over the state and WOW was it an adventure! We usually go during winter to take advantage of skiing Mt. Bachelor or Willamette Pass so this was a nice change for us.

Day 1: We headed out to Crater Lake which is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from my dad's house. A mountain erupted a long time ago creating this huge crater that eventually filled up with crystal clear water which is now know as Crater Lake. The state of Oregon is just absolutely beautiful and I hadn't been to this part of the state since my dad first moved to Oregon 20 years ago. I can remember my dad taking my sister and I here many years ago one summer. Dad didn't want to hike the 1.1 miles down to the water so Keith and I ventured out on our own. The hike down was pretty easy, but the way back up was tough. I had to stop at least once for a water break! After our "little" hike, we opted to stop in a little town called Chemult for a late lunch but the sign on the one and only open restaurant door said "back in 10 minutes" and so we waited...the little mom and pop shop opened up but had another hand written sign that said "only serving ice cream" even though they had a full menu available and so we only had ice cream there. Gotta love small towns.
